Briefly: funny, easy going, but ambitiou. I am aure you are out there, but, like me, you may until recently have been too busy (but no longer?) with career and lifestyle to remember to stop and smell the roses ... or kiss the right partner. ;-) I guess I'm supposed to describe myself now: well, I come from from Ireland, but now reside in beautiful San Francisco, California, USA. I came here via Asia - worked for approximately four years in Japan and China. While I was there I backpacked through many other parts of Asia - the experience was as good as, if not better than, any graduate degree! I still like to travel abroad every summer --mostly to less-developed countries - usually ones with fascinating cultures not yet contaminated by western materialism. This summer, however, finds me working on home improvement projects -- it's actually fun falling back on my old farm repair skills - just no brothers around this time to chase with the paint brush ;-) I like to kid around with my friends and have open-minded discussions on current events, often over brunch on my deck or at our favorite brunch places in town, hopefully where they allow my four-legged buddy, Shanu (see him do an Irish jig below). I come from a close Irish farming family of ten kids -- makes for some wonderful family gatherings! I enjoy hiking, camping, snowboarding, tech gadgets, world politics, dancing (salsa!), theatre, checking out new restaurants, ethnic music and percussion, ethnic cuisine (Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese), NY Times over brunch or online, NPR, BBC World News, Radio Deutsche Welle, etc.
