I have a strong personal connection to Filipinos. I was in Austria working for the UN and hadn't learned to speak German. I was pretty lonely until I met a Filipino couple and they took me in and introduced me to their friends...like 100 of them. They really wanted me to marry a Filipina but I was young and not ready. I was overwhelmed by their kindness and how they accepted me like I was family. When my ex broke my heart, it just felt like finding a foreign wife was the right thing to do. All my Austrian and American friends married to Filipinas were happy. The Filipino culture respects marriage. My Amreican friend told me the best wife in the world is a Filipina who is loved and respected by her man. He also said that if you do not treat her right, she has a crazy brother or uncle who will make you disappear some dark night.
